Tent Site Selection

If you are camping in a tent, you should look for a site with soft ground to set up your tent. Remember, even if you bring an air mattress you will be sleeping very close to the ground so the softer it is the better. It can get very hot inside a tent, so shade is always a good idea, but try to avoid setting up your tent on top of tree roots as you will be sleeping on these (ouch!). You also need to decide if you want a site with water and electricity to use for cooking and cleanup or if you do not require these amenities. You also might want to look for a site close to the bath house if you are camping in a tent. It is nice to be fairly close to the bath house, but not a good idea to be right next to it because a bath house can be a noisy place and you hear everything outside when you are inside a tent.
